All the zero games are great, they can sometimes feel a bit barebones design wise outside of the levels but the levels themselves and the story really make up for all of that.

Yes you heard that right, story, this series is maybe the one instance where I would say the story of megaman actually comes together, makes sense, and in general actually feels well written. In every game there is a LOT of experimentation in potential weapons for zero as well as for progression. The ZX games are also high quality but they do come with a couple of minor points. The open ended design of the game can feel like a pain to traverse, it still maintains a very barebones open world outside of the levels like in the zero series. However that open world is a lot more of a focus point. SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Classics. The story also takes a dip here but is still overall pretty good. It might still be a megaman platformer but its overall design is very unique from the rest of the megaman series and these series are honestly really overlooked from the rest of the franchise sadly. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys platformers. Even people who disliked the original and X series should give this series a try, because its that good.
